The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) reports that consumers no longer have to have their car serviced by a Franchise Dealer to comply with the
Manufacturers Warranty. Block Exemption allows Independent garages to carry out servicing and maintenance on a car without invalidating the vehicle’s warranty provided he garage uses parts that are of matching quality to the manufacturer and follows vehicle assembler’s schedules.
